Our Mission

Mission: The mission of the United Methodist Church is: to To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world. We see this mission in our local church as: To make followers of Jesus Christ by sharing Christ’s love.

We accomplish this mission by sharing the love of Christ through three core strategies:

Connect – We connect people to the love of Christ through intentional outreach, evangelism & welcoming worship.

Grow – We grow in love of Christ together through worship, studying scripture, small groups, and in service together.

Serve – We show this love for God and neighbor by serving our church, our neighborhood, and our world.

Our values:

We are a United Methodist Church: This means we’re a connectional church that is grounded in grace and the belief that God invites all people into a loving relationship with Christ. We believe that we are each called to live out Jesus call to make disciples of Jesus Christ.

We value relationships: fundamentally, people are what matters. Not buildings, or ministries, or our personal preferences, but people!

We value community: The Christian life is meant to be lived out in community and at Mt Holly we take community life seriously! We have regular potlucks and opportunities to connect with each other.

We care about Fairdale: We are very passionate about the Fairdale community and want to see it thrive. We are active in the community and seek to support and built it up as much as we can. Each month we deliver cookies to local businesses and schools, we are active in the Fairdale Fair, support our local ministries and many other things as part of our local connection.

We welcome people of all ages: We seek to create space for people who are at all stages of life. This is why you’ll see folk at various life stages in our church.

We have a particular care for the vulnerable in our community: This means our ministries actively engage with youth, children, elderly, and the homeless. We have annual food drives and have a feeding ministry for the kids and youth in our neighborhood every Sunday night at 5:00 p.m.

We value authenticity: We believe our church should be a place where people can authentically be themselves. We know that there can be pressure to put on a good face even when life is rough. But we believe that God invites us to bring our burdens, our past, and hard parts of life. You don’t have to have your life all “put together” in order to be part of our church.
